Renton politics have gone international!

I just checked the latest Google Analytics data for this site, and I was surprised to see that people from Germany, the UK, Japan, Greece, Australia, Hungary, Israel, Spain, South Africa, and Canada have landed here. In addition, local people from The City Church (where Cheryl Haskins' husband is a pastor), The Seattle Times (!), The Stranger (!!), and the City of Tacoma (??) have visited. Of course, the vast majority of visitors are from Renton and Washington State, as one would expect.

Whatever you think of this debate, it's interesting to see that people from around the globe are also finding it interesting.

Randy Corman, look out! :-)

Despite my seemingly enthusiastic attitude, I have to admit that I just had a little cry. And I'm not a crier. Those of you who grew up gay, or at least have deep compassion for gay friends or family members, will understand how emotionally devastating it can be to have to defend your true nature to others. It's not something I've had to deal with on this scale since I was a teenager, and even then it was more of an internal struggle. I am a reluctant activist now, but I think I'm the only person who could have taken on this challenge at this particular moment, and I accept the responsibility. And I don't mean that to sound like I'm on a mission to destroy anyone, because that is not my goal. And I am not taking pleasure out of this situation, regardless of how flippant I may sound at times. It is profoundly upsetting to me.

Thank you all -- even my detractors -- for your love and support.

I truly admire what you are doing here, and have spread the word from Renton to Seattle proper. Good job!
